Mens Health Survival 10K Battersea

I have literally just realised that it is next week that I am running the Men’s Health Survival 10k in Battersea (London). The Mens health Survival series consists of four 10k races at different locations around the UK, but instead of them being straightforward 10k races, each race involves 10 obstacles that need to be crawled/jumped/swum/traversed before you can cross the finish line and call yourself a Survivor.

The series is sponsored by Land Rover and a few weeks ago Laura Jones from the Land Rover team contacted me and asked me if I would like a free ticket. With Battersea right on my doorstep I was only too happy to agree but I definitely remember thinking that there is loads of time to train for the race…

As it turns out the race is next week and so I had better get running this weekend! I have been too bust texting GPS watches and trainers to put in any decent mileage over the past week so this weekend is probably going to involve some overly long and overly painful long runs to try and make up for last time.

Ssomething else that I only realised a few days ago…a friend (who is also called Ross) not only entered the Survival race in Cardiff a few weeks ago, but he also won it….no pressure then…..

ONe last thing. I made it to the Land Rover blog this week with a few other Team Land Rover runners.
