Your Perfect Pair of Pink Running Shoes!
With the Race for Life season upon us, it is not only the perfect time to think about getting fit and raising money for a fabulous cause, it’s also a great time to refresh your running wardrobe with a pair of Pink Running Shoes!
Whether you are a first time runner or a Race for Life regular you want to be sure you look the part. To get you started, RuntheLine have reviewed some of the top ladies running shoes on the market and guess what? ….they are all pink!
Nike Lunaracer 2 – for those of you desperate to beat that PB!
Available from NikeStore
The Nike Lunaracer 2 running shoe has been specially designed for races, it’s key design feature being it’s weight (or lack of it!). The sole of the shoe is cushioned with ‘Lunarlite’ foam of which is 30% lighter that the standard ‘Phylon’ foam, this helps you to experience a real spring in your step that will be of great benefit when you begin to feel the burn. ‘Flywire’ is the technical name Nike has given to the ultra light main support structure of the shoe. The mesh upper allows for breathability and has only been used where absolutely necessary to provide structure, this helps to provide a further reduction in weight.
Something I immediately questioned when I felt the lightness of the Nike Lunaracer 2 was the cushioning of the shoe – these shoes would no doubt be light and speedy but would I regret not having worn my super comfy and well cushionied Nike Airs at that crucial 9K point of the race? Well, you will be relieved to know that the clever people at Nike have not only created a foam that super light, it also has a very soft texture that not only allows great shock absorption but has also been designed to allow impact force to be more evenly distributed thus help to reduce the impact upon your foot’s main pressure points (the ball and heel).
Light, speedy, well cushioned with a cute pink and white design –you Race for Life pros really can’t go wrong with the Nike Lunaracer 2′s !
Adidas Adistar Salvation 2 – for super cushioning and extra support!
Available at Amazon.com
The Adidas Adistar Salvation 2 has been designed with one thing in mind – comfort. Therefore, it is fantastic for new runners and those that are just getting used to regular training sessions in preparation for their first race. Due to the shoe being seam free, blisters and rubbing are a non-occurrence and the air mesh upper ensures maximum ventilation ensuring you have a comfortable run in some of the snazziest pink running shoes around.
The blown rubber outersole provides great grip whilst is lightweight and well cushioned to reduce impact. The shoe also features a tripler layered breathoprene sockliner to ensure stability and support to the foot. Due to the intense cushioning and support the Adidas Adistar is suitable for larger runners/those that are heavier on their feet as well as those that overpronate.
The Adidas Adistar Salvation trainers are also compatible with the Adidas Micoach, the personalised training device that allows you to create your own training plans in order to reach your goal, the perfect gadget for your Race for Life training!
Asics Gel Pulse 2′s – the great all rounder for a smoother ride!
Available at Amazon.com
Asics are at the forefront of innovation when it comes to running shoes and for us at Runtheline tend to be the brand we always go for when we’re due for a new pair (despite my recent love for my Nike Air ID’s!) Ultimately Asics are great all rounders, offering maximum comfort and lightweight versatility. The Asics Gel Pulse pink running shoes include rear foot gel cushioning of which provides greater shock absorption where you need it the most. Gel cushioned trainers also tend to last longer than air cushioning hence are a good option for those of you who want to make a longer term investment!
The shaped ankle of the Asics Gel Pulse ensures maximum support and movement. The ladies design also feature an anti-microbial cofodry sockliner designed to increase the hygienic properties of the shoe and give a healthier and cleaner feel – perfect for those warmer running days! The open mesh upper also allows for full ventilation around the foot to provide great breathability and enhance comfort….and of course they are pink!
So there you go ladies, three different but equally lovely design to get you ready for your Race for Life – good luck with the fundraising and the training and make sure you embrace the joys of running!
