Following the success of last years event this years Kinver Rotary Action Heart 10k road race and family fun run will be held on the 26th September 2010.
Update: Click here for Photos of the 2010 Action Heart 10k.
The Kinver Rotary Action Heart 10km race follows a challenging but rewarding course which proves popular with all levels of competitors.
Assuming the course is similar to last year, entrants will start outside the leisure centre in Kinver at 10am and straight from the gun will have to climb a steep Enville road incline which makes a great warm up for the big hill a few kilometres ahead. Competitors then climb up a 200m incline over the first 4km of the course which many see as an achievement in itself. Competitors can then enjoy the scenic surroundings of Kinver’s countryside and may have to dodge a few tractors before using a last burst of energy to speed down the very fast final kilometre downhill section to end up back outside the Junior School at Potters Cross for the finish line. For the 209 route map see the image below.
Last years race saw 250people complete the course and was a very well organised event, with adequate stewarding, properly places water stations and post race refreshments. Results for the 2009 Kinver Rotary 10km Race can be found here
After the main 10km race there is also a 2km fun run suitable for all the family. Fancy dress is encouraged!
Entry to both races is strictly in advance and there are no entries on the day. Fees for the main 10km race are £9 for UK Athletics members or £11 otherwise. Entry for the fun run is £3 per person or £8 maximum for a family.
