Brooks most popular running shoe is back in its 11th edition called the Brookes Adrenaline GTS 11. This new incarnation has been updated with the new DNA cushioning technology that seeks to give you a personalised ride with extra cushioning that no other shoe can match. RunTheLine takes these shoes out for a spin to see what the fuss is all about and whether the DNA cushioning is an added improvement to one of the already most well loved running shoes lines on the market.
Brooks have stuck to the classic shoe design when updating the Adrenaline GTS 11’s so a casual glance will not give you any kind of clue as to any of the clever technologies that lie under the bonnet of this innovative and unique shoe.
This Brookes Adrenaline GTS 11 review is going to explain some of the main new technologies that led to the shoe quickly becoming both the Runners World Editors and our own favourite pick out of any support running shoe.
The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 11 has a strong and durable mid section with a comfortable yet supportive arch support system that corrects any mild pronation when running. This system has been tried and tested with previous Adrenaline GTS models and has proved effective at providing the support that many runners need to prevent injury and run efficiently.
One of the main reasons that the new Brookes Adrenaline GTS 13 has proved to be such a hit already has been due to the new DNA technology that is packed into the shoe. This technology seeks to provide even more heel cushioning when you need it most and makes the shoe a great option for anyone that tends to lengthen their stride as opposed to increasing their cadence when running.
The Heel Cradle is a great addition to the shoe as after a few runs the heel moulds to your foot and keeps it firmly rooted within the shoe. This makes the shoe very stable to run in as there is very little lateral or horizontal movement either at the heel strike or throughout the full motion of the shoe to toe off. For anyon struggling to find a shoe that fits snugly to your foot then I would strongly suggest looking into the Brookes Adrenaline GLS 11’s as they are both a very well fitting shoe and a very comfortable shoe.
If we were conducting a GTS 10 Vs GTS 11 review then we would have to re visit one of out favourite technologies from the GDS 11’s predecessor. The element technology in the GTS 11 is a upper material that is unique in design and provides weather protection whilst maintaining breathability. This means that the shoe keeps your foot cool and dry in summer and warm and dry in winter. Too many shoes offer inferior wind proofing which means that your toes freeze during winter and sweat during the summer. The GTS solves this problem and it makes an excellent all year training shoe for putting some serious mileage under your belt.
All of these features add up and it is a combination of some fantastic old features (kept from previous models) and some nifty enhancements that have resulted in the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 11 being awarded Runners World Editors choice award for spring 2011.
No Brookes Adrenaline GTS 11 review would be complete if we didn’t talk about price. With an RRP of $90 the shoes represent excellent value of money. They provide a wide range of advanced features that make this shoe a top choice for any serious runner looking for a support shoe that can give them a serious amount of protection during every mile that they run.

Hi Sara,
Glad to hear that you are excited about your new shoes! Make sure that you report back on how you found running in them – I am sure you will be more than happy as they are probably the best selling Brooks shoes around at the moment.

I have had really good luck with these shoes. When I wear them out I will buy the exact same pair again!
I am on my 3rd pair of Brooks GTS (2 tenth gen and the new 11th gen) and I am very pleased with them.
It’s hard to comment on them except to say that I don’t notice any pain or problems after 2 years and 3 pair.
I had the gts 10, loved them had a blow out in the left heel this morning left me with a popping sound every step. Had them for six-ish months took them up to OKC runner where I bought them, they said it was a defect and just swapped them for the GTS 11. They said brooks stands by there shoes!!! All I can say is wow! I’m very excited to hit the pavement tomorrow in the 11′s. Way to Ho Brooks and OKC runner, just kept me on the road with not a bit of a hassle. Oh and BTW I really do love running in brooks shoes, I’ve have surgery on both feet for bunions and these feel great!
Been running in the GTS 11 for a few weeks now and I must say they are the best yet of the GTS series that i have tried.

I have to admit, I’m out searching for another alternative to the Adrenaline GTS series. but only to find that in the time since I started using them (around version 6 or 7), the shoe has been garnering more awards and more fans. I used to have terrible, nagging knee pains that would get aggravated when running. So years ago I found reviews and comments suggesting these. I use them for running/training, working out, and as my general use sneaker. Expensive for general use, but oh how the knees thank me. After using these for 5 years now, I find this particular review spot on accurate to my experience with them. My ’11s are well worn out now, after 9 months of training average 2 runs per week, and taking up three 5k events. All things considered… Still a good value shoe.
