Adidas Adizero Adios Review
This running shoe has become famous as the world’s fastest, helping Haile Gebrselassie to achieve a world record breaking 2:03:59 marathon time. The running shoe has been designed to be ultra light weight in order to help you achieve your best possible time. The Adidas Adizero has been designed primarily for neutral runners and due to it’s lightweight design and cushioning is perfect for those wanting to achieve longer distances whilst maintaining ultimate comfort. Whether its improved time or distance that you are after, these shoes could be the answer.
The shoe weighs just 210 grams and is made using a solvent free synthetic suade upper, not only does this enhance breathability and comfort, it is also environmentally friendly – a first for most running shoes on the market and something I’m sure the fell runners amongst you will appreciate, thank you Adidas! The quick strike outer sole not only decreases the weight of the shoe but also improves its flexibility and durability, allowing your foot to shape the shoe as you run whilst maintaining great support.
Despite the lightweight focus of the shoe, Adidas has not sacrificed comfort in order to achieve this. The ‘adiPRENE’ cushioning under the heel ensures that impact is reduced as your foot hits the ground, other ‘comfort’ features of the shoe include its moulded respoEVA sockliner – this providing an anatomical fit and great step-in comfort, the non-slip lining also helps to prevent movement within the shoe whilst you are running, this reducing discomfort and the chance of blisters (a vital feature for those longer runs!)
As a long distance runner who is prone to experiencing calf pain on longer runs, the only thing I would question about the Adidas Adizero’s is their impact control in comparison to the Asics Gel 300 series – these shoes may not be as light weight but with specially designed impact reducing soles may be better for those of you more susceptible to injury. However, if they can make you go as fast Haile Gebrselassie maybe impact is something we are willing to sacrifice on key race days?!
Another endearing feature of the shoe is its great value for money. At just £77 RRP it’s a real steal that all you keen distance runners can’t afford to miss! Available in a wide range of wacky colours for both men and women the Adidas Adizero is set to brighten up your running kit even on those dark dreary winter mornings – if anything’s going to get you pounding the pavements it’s these babies!
